A multipurpose dry chemical fire extinguisher can be used on all classes of fires, but for Class “A” fires, they need to be supplemented with water.
Keep in Mind
To fight a fire using the wrong type of fire extinguisher will have serious consequences. For example, if a water-type extinguisher is used on Class “B” fires (flammable liquids), the fire may flare up, spread, and cause injuries to the user and others.
